As popular as The Fry Inn is, a few aspects do draw critique. Some diners note that during peak hours, it may be wise to order ahead, as the wait can stretch longer than expected. A few reviews mention that the seating area can feel cramped at times, especially when tour groups come in. There's also the occasional mention of wish for more variety in the menu—though the existing selection is robust, some patrons desire more adventurous offerings beyond the classics. Additionally, while most meals are freshly prepared, a couple of visitors experienced slight inconsistencies in the seasoning, particularly with side orders like mushy peas and curry sauce. Thankfully, these are minor issues that don’t overshadow the overall quality of the meal.
The food is amazing here highly recommend it. In fact I've gone two days in a row before it's that good! Haha Top recommendations that's I have had - Chicken chunks Fish and chips The sausages, are by far the best sausages I've ever eaten in any chip shop. Finally ones that are different and my more worthy of an adult meal. Thanks guys 😁👍🏼🐟 Natalie and Shadow
Superb! Great chunky, crispy, fluffy chips and a fantastic piece of fish with a light, crispy batter. I'm on a diet, so I just had the medium cod and small chips and it filled me right up. I ordered by phone and was told it'd be 50 minutes! So order ahead and avoid the wait - it's worth it.
The batter on the fish is very good. It has a crunch, tends not to fall off the fish (which denotes quality) and importantly, the flavour in conjunction with the perfectly cooked cod is a real stand-out fish & chips meal. I rate The Fry Inn highly.
Really delicious, perfectly crispy moist but not oily- just how you want your fish and chips. Excellent service and homemade tartare sauce. If you’re looking for somewhere to enjoy it, stay there or head next door for an excellent pint. The Tap House let you bring in takeaway food
